AngloGold Ashanti’s Mponeng mine is located in South Africa’s Gauteng province. After the successful completion of the Pre-Feasibility study for mining below the 120 Level, the feasibility phase commenced establishing if the current hoisting capacity will be sufficient for personnel, material, slinging, and rock logistics during daily operations as well as for project-related logistics.
This project was a simulation-based study that investigated the potential of a major mining company's current and proposed operational structure. The study was to determine if the mine could handle the scheduled production from the underground mining operations through to [...]
This model focused on a large stockpile operations and train loading facility. It included the train arrivals, loading, slots, capacity evaluation and schedule optimisation. Our Client's Challenge The projects department at our client needed to investigate a train loading facility [...]
This project was a complete mine-to-port logistical study which integrated mining, transportation and shipping systems to provide a holistic view of the intermodal systems. Our Client's Challenge The main objectives for the study were to analyse if the planned mining [...]
In this project, a simulation model was completed for large stockpile operations and train loading facility within South Africa. The model included train arrivals, loading, slots, capacity evaluation and schedule optimisation. Our Client's Challenge Being one of the largest mining [...]
This project was part of a pre-feasibility study of a line from loading site in Mozambique to a port. The model includes logistics from the mine to the loading site, rail loading via reclaimer, rail model to port, detailed port [...]
